This office serves anyone owning property or a vehicle and in 81 counties driver licenses are issued at the Treasurers office. Citizens can now go online and pay property taxes, renew vehicles, download forms and contact their county treasurers office 24/7 through www.iowatreasurers.org
Project Description
ABC Virtual designed, developed, and implemented the Iowa County Treasurers E-Government Alliance (ICTEA) application for the Iowa County Treasurers Association.
ICTEA provides the Iowa State County Treasurers Association a web portal that provides a virtual office that is open for information and transactions 24/7 without adding staff or other overhead costs. This application provides a great benefit to the citizens of Iowa for online payments of property tax and motor vehicle registration renewals at their convenience. The component applications allow third-party taxpayers such as escrow companies and banks to pay large sums of property taxes in a single ACH payment made electronically. The application also includes reporting features, membership site, and conference registration.
The application provides an In Office Payment (IOP) component the counties can use to accept credit card and debit card payments over the counter. IOP is unique in its design in that it is entirely web based and simply requires the download of a device driver to communicate with the magnetic stripe reader that plugs into the USB port of any computer. Transaction information is captured through the device, transmitted securely through https, and then stored in ABC Virtual’s secure PCI compliant data center.
The uniqueness lies in the collaborative effort to provide this technology and application statewide through one system. Iowa is also the only state in the nation that we are aware of that has such a service available across county lines for the citizen, banks and escrow companies.
